When should I treat my water feature (pond, fountain, stock tank, lake)?

It is recommended to begin pond water treatments once the water has reached 7° C and continue throughout the season ( for New Zealand this is from Autumn into Summer). At this temperature, the bacteria is most active. It is more cost-effective to prevent the problem than it is to address the problem after it is established.
