Each water feature is unique so there is not a one size fits all response to that question. In most cases, 4 to 6 weeks is needed to see results. It is IMPORTANT to note that quite often your water feature will initially look worse after starting treatment and then suddenly clear up. The reason for this is simple; as our bacteria consumes the nutrients, the green organic matter at the bottom of the water feature will make a last ditch effort to find nutrients and move to the surface of the water.

It then dies off and floats back to the bottom where it is consumed by our product. Treatment is very simple, you toss or place the correct number of products into your pond/stock tank. The dispensers will sink to the bottom and begin releasing the bacteria and enzymes into the water.

Since our pond water treatment product is all-natural it is not possible to over-treat your pond, but it is very possible to under-treat, and the desired result will not be achieved. If you need help, please contact us and one of our technicians will be happy to assist you.

Our AquaSphere®PRO is weighted and sinks to the bottom of your pond and goes to work consuming the excess nutrients. The AquaSphere®PRO provides a patented 30-day time release of beneficial bacteria and enzymes that consume the excess nutrients in the water and remove sludge in ponds.

To achieve the best results, use the AquaSphere®PRO with our supplement Natural Blast®.

Our products are all natural, so any natural pond treatment will work in your koi pond. But if you do have questions please reach out to our technicians and they will answer any questions you might have.

Blue/green algae (cyanobacteria) can produce toxins that are harmful to people, pets, livestock, and wildlife. If you see signs of a bloom (green scum, pea-soup water, or surface mats), treat the situation carefully:

• Do NOT swim, fish, or draw water for animals or irrigation until the algae is gone and the water is safe again.
• Do NOT apply algaecides directly. In New Zealand, chemical treatment of blue/green algae in ponds and waterways is highly restricted and can actually make the problem worse by releasing more toxins when the algae cells break apart.
• Safer approaches include:
  • Physical removal of surface scums where practical (using nets or pumps, and disposing of material away from water).
  • Improving water circulation and aeration, which reduces the stagnant conditions algae thrive in.
  • Reducing nutrient inputs for example, diverting runoff, limiting fertiliser near water, or planting buffer vegetation around ponds. Less nitrogen and phosphorus = fewer blooms.

After removal and/or treatment of algae, RUSH® All Natural Algae Treatment can be applied to visible areas, where it works by targeting organic matter and accelerating natural breakdown using eco-based oxidizers rather than harsh chemicals.

After the immediate bloom has been managed, additional all-natural products help restore balance by boosting beneficial bacteria, improving oxygen levels, and reducing excess nutrients creating a healthier aquatic environment that makes it harder for blue/green algae to return.

Please Note: Our products are NOT algaecides, they do not ‘kill algae’ directly.

Treatment is very simple. You toss or place the correct number of products into your pond/stock tank. The pond water treatment dispensers will sink to the bottom and begin releasing the bacteria and enzymes into the water.

Our products are about 75% effective in salt water. If you plan on treating a salt water water feature, we recommend that you double the dosage.

All of Healthy Ponds products are designed to last for 30 days. The spheres have a patented time-release feature that allows the continuous release of bacteria and enzymes over a 30-day period. Bacteria normally live for 7-10 days, so the time-release is very important. This also means that the sphere will need to be replaced because the bacteria will not be effective after 30 days. A new sphere will be needed to continue treatment.

It is recommended to begin pond water treatments once the water has reached 7° C and continue throughout the season ( for New Zealand this is from Autumn into Summer). At this temperature, the bacteria is most active. It is more cost-effective to prevent the problem than it is to address the problem after it is established.

Algae feeds off of excess nutrients that are in the water. These nutrients can be introduced into the water in numerous ways. Some of the most common are food remaining on an animal’s mouth when it comes to drink, leaves, grass clippings and run off. With warm temperatures and stagnant water, anything organic in the water will decompose releasing nutrients that the algae feed off of. The beneficial bacteria, in Healthy Ponds® by Bioverse® spheres, will consume the excess nutrients and starve off the green organic matter.

This all depends on where you live. But we recommend treating your pond 6 months out of the year.

• Day 1 – Recommended amount of Natural Blast®
• Day 15 – Recommended amount of Natural Blast®
• Day 30 – Recommended amount of Natural Blast® and recommended size of AquaSphere®PRO

Continue treatment until smell dissipates and maintain with monthly AquaSphere®PRO treatment. We encourage our customers to keep extra Natural Blast® on hand in case any problems arise.
