Yes. Our products are all-natural, and veterinarian approved making them safe for fish, plants, birds, animals, pets and people.

Since our pond water treatment product is all-natural it is not possible to over-treat your pond, but it is very possible to under-treat, and the desired result will not be achieved. If you need help, please contact us and one of our technicians will be happy to assist you.

Our products are about 75% effective in salt water. If you plan on treating a salt water water feature, we recommend that you double the dosage.

There is no expiration date as long as they are stored properly. They must be stored in a dry environment.

Our AquaSphere®PRO is weighted and sinks to the bottom of your pond and goes to work consuming the excess nutrients. The AquaSphere®PRO provides a patented 30-day time release of beneficial bacteria and enzymes that consume the excess nutrients in the water and remove sludge in ponds.

To achieve the best results, use the AquaSphere®PRO with our supplement Natural Blast®.

Natural Blast® starts at the top of the water and works its way down at a fast rate of 7 days, and is not time-released. This pond water treatment product is a great add-on to the AquaSphere®PRO. Natural Blast® is our strongest formulation and disperses throughout the entire body of water when added to the pond.​

Treatment is very simple. You toss or place the correct number of products into your pond/stock tank. The pond water treatment dispensers will sink to the bottom and begin releasing the bacteria and enzymes into the water.

All of Healthy Ponds products are designed to last for 30 days. The spheres have a patented time-release feature that allows the continuous release of bacteria and enzymes over a 30-day period. Bacteria normally live for 7-10 days, so the time-release is very important. This also means that the sphere will need to be replaced because the bacteria will not be effective after 30 days. A new sphere will be needed to continue treatment.

We recommend that you use our product Natural Blast® for 30 days.

  • Day 1 – Recommended amount of Natural Blast®
  • Day 15 – Recommended amount of Natural Blast®
  • Day 30 – Recommended amount of Natural Blast® and recommended size of AquaSphere®PRO

Continue treatment until smell dissipates and maintain with monthly AquaSphere®PRO treatment. We encourage our customers to keep extra Natural Blast® on hand in case any problems arise.

Blue/green algae (cyanobacteria) can produce toxins that are harmful to people, pets, livestock, and wildlife. If you see signs of a bloom (green scum, pea-soup water, or surface mats), treat the situation carefully:

  • Do NOT swim, fish, or draw water for animals or irrigation until the algae is gone and the water is safe again.
  • Do NOT apply algaecides directly. In New Zealand, chemical treatment of blue/green algae in ponds and waterways is highly restricted and can actually make the problem worse by releasing more toxins when the algae cells break apart.
  • Safer approaches include:
    • Physical removal of surface scums where practical (using nets or pumps, and disposing of material away from water).
    • Improving water circulation and aeration, which reduces the stagnant conditions algae thrive in.
    • Reducing nutrient inputs for example, diverting runoff, limiting fertiliser near water, or planting buffer vegetation around ponds. Less nitrogen and phosphorus = fewer blooms.

After removal and/or treatment of algae, RUSH® All Natural Algae Treatment can be applied to visible areas, where it works by targeting organic matter and accelerating natural breakdown using eco-based oxidizers rather than harsh chemicals.

After the immediate bloom has been managed, additional all-natural products help restore balance by boosting beneficial bacteria, improving oxygen levels, and reducing excess nutrients creating a healthier aquatic environment that makes it harder for blue/green algae to return.

Please Note: Our products are NOT algaecides, they do not ‘kill algae’ directly.

Our products are all natural, so any natural pond treatment will work in your koi pond. But if you do have questions please reach out to our technicians and they will answer any questions you might have.

Pond Volume Formula:
Length × Width × Average Depth = Total Litres

  • Use one 147ml water-soluble dye bag per 1.8 million litres of water.
  • Example: 2 bags treat 3.6 million litres.
  • Reapply every 30 days or as needed to maintain desired color.

Application Directions:

  • Apply from the upwind side for better dispersion.
  • Gently toss the bag into the pond—use multiple bags for larger areas, spacing them evenly.
  • Allow up to 24 hours for full color dispersion.
  • Record application rates for future reference.
  • Always follow label directions.

Important Note: In ponds with poor water quality, high temperatures, or low oxygen levels, use with caution if fish are present. Sudden changes may stress aquatic life. Always monitor water conditions and oxygen levels.

  • Make sure the water temperature is above 45⁰F
  • Be careful when handling this product as it will leave color on your hands if you touch the product directly
  • If you do get colorant on your skin, it will not harm you because it is all-natural, but we recommend using DAWN Dish Soap to wash off the dye
  • Apply granules from upwind to aid in dispersion or gently toss the bags(s) into the middle of the water
  • If you are treating with multiple bags make sure to evenly distribute
  • Allow 24 hours for full dispersion
  • Repeat every 30 days, or as needed to retain the desired color
  • This product is all-natural and will not harm fish, plants, animals, pets, or people
  • Keep extra pond dye in a dry place
